Mountains and (fast melting) Snow

Moon in Aries

For all my friends and family who wondered if we had gotten any snow! O yes, we did! On Alaska Road we got between 24 and 30 inches (depending on who’s telling the story).

First big snowfall came – wet, heavy and nonstop.

Lost internet.

Lost electrical power – generator powered up.

Food supplies held up (thank God we did not have to dig into the dreaded MREs).

Jerome, the mighty snowplow, reported for duty and plowed three times – what a champ!

Snow days found me digging into the family records. Totally absorbed into sorting out the family genealogy.

Have arrived in Seville, Spain, circa 1535.

Would you like to know more? I certainly do. Bleary eyed, the search continues!

Here are some “after the snowstorm” pictures I took from our car.

  1. What a view you have, beautiful!
We had 24″ inches and Lakewood and it has melted to about 8″ in the shady places, otherwise we are looking a nice green lawn.

  2. We’re lucky we live in Colorado!

  3. Gorgeous pics. We got snow for about an hour in ABQ but it melted in five minutes.

  4. Looks like a winter wonderland. How Beautiful

  5. Jerome feels a bit unappreciated, as he plowed – magnificently – four rather than three times during the recent snowstorm.

  6. Sorry Jerome that my count was off by one. My only excuse is that you performed so well that I took you for granted (and I was, after all in the 16th century with the ancestors).

  7. Wow, Auntie, those are great pics! Thank you for sharing. You really do have a beautiful view of God’s creation. Love you, Joni

  8. Hey Joni
Did you get much snow in Longmont? I took those pics on Saturday on our way back from Denver. The vista just took my breath away!

  13. Hi Bernadette -
I did get your order – thanks so much! I have been doing major research on family genealogy and have been caught in a time warp. Looking up this morning I find myself back in the 21st century and will get your order out. Thanks again and give our mutual NM friends a hug for me. I miss everyone!
